Call to Covenant

January 15, 2011

Please join us in Fellowship Hall at 7 p.m. next Tuesday, January 18th, as we begin our study of the third part of Living the Questions (LTQ3): Call to Covenant. Reviewers have called Living the Questions “enlightening and inspiring” and “fascinating” in that the series raises questions many have “thought about but have been afraid to ask….”

You can see a short video of clips taken from this thought-provoking DVD series here.

LTQ3 will meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month through May 3rd (with the exception of March 15th). You can jump right in—no need to have attended earlier classes. Questions? Feel free to contact us.

The Women of Lilith Give Thanks (Again)

January 10, 2011

This week we give thanks for:

  • The Sunday school teachers who selflessly give their time, talents, and enthusiasm to our youth;
  • Calico Butterfly Preschool and its interaction with the church; and
  • Lighting candles for those we love on Sunday morning.

The next meeting of Lilith will be at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26th, at a member’s home. Fellowship, spiritual discussion, supportive caring, and delicious refreshments are on the agenda. Please contact Linda FitzGerald at 242-5942 for further information.

Back to “School”

January 7, 2011

With the holiday vacation over, it’s time to get back to the informative and enjoyable adult classes on Sunday mornings at 9:15 a.m. in the Conference Room. Next Sunday, the 9th, we will view the third DVD in the Earthbound series — “Dominion or Domination.”

On the 23rd, Ruth Hoffman, of Lutheran Advocacy Ministry-NM, will help us look at some of the important issues before this year’s state legislative session. And St. Paul’s Connections Team will lead the entire congregation in discussing our Mission Statement on the 30th.

We don’t “take attendance” at adult class — just drop in when you can!

Epiphany of Our Lord

January 6, 2011

A prayer for today:

Almighty  and ever-living God, you revealed the incarnation of your Son by the brilliant shining of a star. Shine the light of your justice always in our hearts and over all lands, and accept our lives as the treasure we offer in your praise and for your service, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
